Juniper wood stands for its cleansing properties. In ancient cultures such as that of the Indians, juniper wood was used to dispel evil spirits. In Europe, people burn juniper to clean their house and unwind. You can do this in a fireproof dish or shell.
Burning juniper wood is similar to lighting cleansing white sage. Place a branch in a shell or dish (refractory) and light it. When you see a flame, blow it out and you can experience the spicy scent and cleansing properties. Juniper wood has a characteristic, pungent odor. It is a spicy scent that makes your senses stand out. The scent of juniper is perfect for eliminating unpleasant odors due to the fresh herbal aroma.
In order to perform the cleaning of your house (odor and negativity) as well as possible, we recommend that you open a window or door while your juniper is burning. This way, negative energy and unpleasant odors can go out more easily.
How to use your Smudge Stick: Light the end of your sage stick and after it has ignited, extinguish the flame and direct the smoke around the area you wish to cleanse. You may wish to hold a container or shell in your other hand to catch ashes or to serve as a resting place for the smouldering stick if you use a fan or a feather to direct the smoke. You can direct the smoke around yourself, another person, or in your room to clear the energy. To extinguish your sage stick, smother the end and examine closely to make sure the stick is completely out. Your smudge stick may continue to burn if not completely extinguished. A lit sage stick should not be left burning while not attended, and lots care should be used to extinguishing smouldering smudge sticks properly.
